Commonly known as the Westie, the West Highland White Terriers is an adorable medium-sized terrier with longer legs that originates from Scotland. Westies are among the most popular of small terriers and stand between 10 to 11 inches at the shoulder.
The spunky dogs pack a lot of energy in a small package and often come across as fiercely independent and even arrogant at times. They’re very playful, however, and relish their owner’s attention. Running around in the yard or taking a walk through the neighborhood or a dog park will give them the activity they need to burn off their excess energy.
