Bloodhounds are generally amiable dogs but they can get into trouble if they get on a scent, so they require a strong leash and firm grip when out walking. Additionally, since they are bred to be able to track targets for miles over all types of terrain, they have strong legs and need a good amount of exercise to stay in peak form.
And, as all Bloodhound owners know, they are quite loud. Their unique baying can be heard over long distances - an ideal way to signal they’ve found something while tracking, but not so ideal in a confined space like an apartment. They are also prolific droolers, and are known for eating anything they can get their paws on.
